We continue to especially sponsor Matchgirl and honor the fallen children of Sandy Hook with an empty chair. We remember exiting a performance on December 14th, 2012 which was filled with 4th graders from around the city, most of whom had never seen ballet before and hearing the news about the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children between six and seven years old, as well as six adult staff members.
