AGE & GENDER EQUALITY IN THE ARTS

Age and Gender Equity in the Arts is unique in its Mission and objectives. Although many groups address gender parity and ageism, no other organization has melded gender and age into a movement with a succinct action plan for change. AGE provides recognition and monetary award incentives to theatre companies that have significant potential to affect positive change in the Portland arts community and beyond. A GRANT WAS GIVEN TO THEM IN SUPPORT OF A SYMPOSIUM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE AT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY MARCH 3-4 ENTITLED “UNCONSCIOUS BIAS: ACHIEVING GENDER EQUALITY. THIS 2-DAY EVENT WILL PROVIDE        A MULTIGENERATIONAL, MULTICULTURAL, MULTIDISCIPLINARY FOCUS ON UNCONSCIOUS GENDER BIAS – ITS IMPACT ON OUR LIVES OUR CHOICES AND THE ART WE CREATE
