Art of Survival through the Center for Hope and Safety logooffers art classes for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. These classes will give those who are isolated a way of connecting and communicating with other survivors. Through the process of art making, survivors are able to express emotions, which are often times difficult to put into words. As an outreach program to the community, the exhibited art created will be exhibited to create awareness and educate. We know that art increases the awareness of self, promotes personal development and coping skills and ultimately does help in the healing process from trauma. By being able to connect with out survivors in cases, the participants in the Art of Survival workshops will be able to share the trauma of abuse while finding and offering support and feedback.
