DRUMMING

 

Drum Circles provide participants the opportunity to express emotions. Sarah Zajac is a practicing neurologic music therapist who serves adults with developmental disabilities. She will work with these adults to develop important cognitive, social and emotions skills through musical experiences. Drum Circles  promote movement and community. Music is used in therapy to improve auditory perception, executive functioning, increasing attention, exercise emotional control, develop/nurture friendships and relationships, increase self-expression, improve self-image, promote relaxation and enhance the community PFW’s grant will help increase the instrument inventory used.
