IF YOU ARE TOO OLD TO PLAY IN A PLAYGROUND COME OUT AND BUILD ONE!

IF YOU ARE TOO OLD TO PLAY IN A PLAYGROUND WHY NOT HELP BUILD ONE
Central Community House and its onsite child care partner Columbus Early Learning Centers have the unique opportunity to replace its aging playground thanks to KaBOOM! Central Community House and Columbus Early Learning Centers have served the community for decades. Through various youth and family programs, each year over 500 children find a safe haven at our Main Street facility where they have nurturing role models, an atmosphere of academic success and empowerment to hope for the futurE. KaBOOM! is a national organization dedicated to bringing balanced and active play into the daily lives of all kids. The one-day build requires over 200 volunteers and is scheduled for August 10, 2017!
This project has further leveraged the help of OPI, a prison-work program that is providing greatly discounted labor to demolish existing equipment by using individuals participating in Ohio Corrections Facilities. The skills and exposure to community service gained through this will contribute to success upon release and re-entry into society, while saving our organizations money and resources.

Thanks to this new playground, children, especially those enrolled in Early Learning, will benefit from stress-reduction through play, as well as the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills and soft skills such as creativity and communication with peers.
