In Any Language It Is Still BREAD

Dublin Arts Council http://www.dublinarts.orgwill present the inaugural event BREAD!  a festival of arts and community, on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 from 12 – 10 p.m. in historic Dublin, Ohio. High St. (Dublin Rd.) south of Bridge St. (S.R. 161) The festival will reconnect the community via shared arts experiences and the making and breaking of traditional breads of the many cultures represented in its neighborhoods.

The festival features bread sculptor Ciril Hitz, a native of Switzerland who teaches full-time at the International Baking & Pastry Institute at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I.  He took first place overall at the 2004 National Bread and Pastry Team Championship in Atlantic City, N.J., and represented the USA at the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, Paris, where the team captured the Silver Medal. Hitz’s work has been featured on the NBC Today ShowThe Food Network and Ciao Italia.

The BREAD! festival is being developed by a group representing the many cultures found in the community. In addition to Hitz’s sculptures, which will be created on site, activities will include booths designed to emulate traditional dining rooms, sampling of the breads of many cultures, traditional music and dance, artmaking, food and more:  AND IT IS FREE logo_dublinArtsCouncil
