Puffin Ohio/Midwest brought J.D. Williamson to the Hubbard Elementary School, a literature based inner-city public school, to coincide with Read Across America Week honoring Dr. Seuss. Mr. Williamson is a performer, singer, storyteller and cartoonist. Mr. Williamson performed twice, once for the primary grades (Pre-K-3) and then for grades 4-6. He followed up making visits to classrooms. This year sadly marks the end of a special relationship with the Hubbard Elementar School and educator Mrs. Bari Pollyea, as the Board of Education has voted to close this turn-of the century neighborhood school owing to budgetary consideration. Puffin wishes these students, some of whom we have known since their school careers began, the most enlightened futures.
