PUFFIN WEST proudly gave a Grant in support of the Martin Luther King Jr. Performing and Cultural Arts Complex' Youth Summer Camp which supports our neighborhood children aged 5-12 and of whom 80%  qualify for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.  Owing to the fact that Franklin County Job and Family Services, which has traditionally helped to fund this summer program  provided ZERO dollars this year, this program remains in critical need of funding.  The Youth Summer Cultural Arts Camp provides a safe setting for children for nine weeks when school is not in session.  It nurtures personal and creative growth through its green and arts curriculum.  During these nine weeks communication skills, self-confidence, the fostering of creative and scientific skills and thinking are developed.  Some of the program goals are to improve math and reading scores.  But as it is summertime,  the program is also enjoyable and FUN as they are exposed to dance, theatre, music and the visual arts.  This year's theme is Imagination Fascination.
