IS THERE A POP-UP IN YOUR FUTURE?

Karen Jones’ enthusiasm is contagious and at a meeting with Founder of The Harmony Project, David Brown, an underwriting grant was given by Ms. Jones and Puffin West to create POP-UP Choirs.  The first official POP-UP showed up at  the Weinland Park Festival.  CityYear Columbus (thank you Mr. Todd Tuney) staffed the event.  A group of children ranging in age from 4-14 arrived at the Weinland Park Community Center and received a scant 30 minutes of instruction from Mr. Brown and  his assistant Dani Moss.  The enthusiasm was so high that within FIVE MINUTES most of the two verses and chorus had been memorized and  within  30 minutes  of instruction there were even soloists!

The children proudly sang their song for all assembled including their parents, friends, neighbors and teachers and they received a GREAT STANDING OVATION!  The nature of the event and the song united the crowd into one, which happens whenever  the Harmony Project pops up.

Other POP-UPS are being planned! BE READY TO SING!
