JOIN THE CONVERSATION

The Evansville Museum or Arts, History and Science…. they are a STEAM ENGINE promoting Community Cultural Conversations to bring to light issues and topics to which are timely and significant. The grant will help them in this community undertaking and will combine film, and panels with the lectures. Topics could be: What is it like to be to be Islamic, or American Indian in Evansville? Why is it important to have and arts/cultural district? What is it like to be transgender in today’s world? How do I understand healthcare economic, addiction and lack of education on the system? These Community Cultural Conversations  evv-museum-logo-grey began in 2016, some were uncomfortable topics, some were unknown topics, but the people came in the hundreds and we expect that this audience through the Museum’s social media outreach will continue to grow. This Museum was originally founded by the Ladies’ Literary Club in 1874. It was the Ladies Literary Club, which made the concerted effort to encourage the study of art in Evansville, which resulted in the first highly successful exhibition in 1900. Today the Museum is home to over 60,000 objects representing art, history and science, under the Mission to enrich lives through preservation, exploration, enlightenment and amazement.   evansvillemuseum.org
