A Grant was provided to help Five Sisters Production begin their education initiative of their documentary Kings, Queens, & In-Betweens (KWIB) that has been making SRO Independent Festival SRO history all across the country getting very strong reviews and positive response from audiences and critics. An educational academic study guide will be created and the initial outreach is to 50 colleges which will offer then the film for educational engagement. This documentary about drag performers in Columbus-Ohio – through their art form, looks at the larger issues of gender, performance and elements of human identity. They will be working on this initiative with EQUITAS HEALTH to take the film to cities within the Ohio/Midwestern region, as well as other partnerships and support of other 501(c)(3) organizations, including NewFest NYC, who all are excited by the film’s potential for moving the needle on LGNTQ rights and cultural understanding.
