“I’m writing to say thank you for Puffin Foundation West’s support of our 10th Columbus Documentary Week. It was a huge success!
Thanks to your support we were able to host 8 visiting filmmakers. That’s more than any one week in film center history. These visits gave our audience the opportunity to speak directly with filmmakers, based in different cities around the country about their filmmaking experiences, the subject matter of their films, and the future of documentaries. You and I have discussed the value of making Columbus a more metropolitan city; I believe that bringing in these filmmakers was a step in the right direction.
In addition to the filmmaker visits we also hosted multiple panel discussions with both local and national activists groups. These meaningful discussions allowed our guests to engage more deeply with the subjects of the documentaries and learn how they can get involved in them.
We wanted to make sure that people knew of your support. Puffin Foundation West was thanked on the big screen before all 38 screenings and your logo was on all promotions and print pieces.
It was a great week for Gateway Film Center and for Columbus, and you’re support helped make it possible.
