SINGING IN THE HOUSE CCC DOES CCH
Columbus Children’s Choir (CCC) will again bring MUSIC and SONG to the Central Community House (CCH) though a partnership program with Ohio Alliance for Arts Education. Senior Choir members will be given apprentice opportunities to learn about teaching music and managing a classroom of kindergarteners through third graders who will have weekly music classes. There will be 3 sessions and at the end of each session a performance for other Central Community House attendees, their families and members from the community will be invited to attend. PFW has supported these performances that bring visual arts, music, dance, and percussion into the Community House under their TRANSIT ARTS umbrella, a long-running collaboration of CCH and this teen arts program funded in part again by the Ohio Alliance of the Arts grant. This is a great example how by using partnerships programs can grow and flourish. This continues to expand Columbus Children’s Choir’s reach of service recipients within it local neighborhoods and diversify the opportunities available for young people in Columbus. This also builds a positive relationship between youth and their local community through the arts.
