COME ONE COME ALL
See HUNDREDS of your NEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN PARADE FOR PEACE Sept. 12, 2015. We will be gathering at 10:30 a.m. at the grounds of 1251 Bryden Road and Kwanzaa Playground. We ask you to line the parade route down Bryden Road from the Kwanza Playground to the Hot Times in Olde Town Arts & Music Festival starting at 11:00 a.m. The children are all designing posters that promote peace and living together in harmony. These children will creatively express themselves and share their desire for a better neighborhood, which hopefully will influence others to embrace these beliefs.
In light of the recent shootings in the communities, theatres, and schools, there is no better time than now to reaffirm these messages. There is power and energy in a large group of children sharing positive messages with the stakeholders in their environment.
This parade encourages youth to have pride in their community, feel safer in their neighborhoods and it also serves to bring neighbors together by engaging not only the children who march but also their family and friends who come out to support them. PFW has provided a grant to our friends at the CENTRAL COMMUNITY HOUSE, which has also invited children from a variety of other local youth groups to parade as well.
