PUTTING FACES TO THE NAMES – Artist Eva Andry

Eva Andry’s Installation “PUTTING FACES TO THE NAMES” was seen at Marcia Evan’s Gallery in the Short North. She received a grant from The Puffin Foundation for this project   The gallery, draped in funeral bunting, had  over 350 individual paintings of the  first United States fallen in Iraq painted by Ms. Andry.   Each individual canvas was able to be taken off the bunting and held in the viewer’s hands. On the reverse was the Department of Defense photograph of the deceased American, their name, their age and how and where they had died.  Hundreds of visitors and some family members of the decedents came to cradle (and some cried ) over the tragic loss of such young lives.
