We can advise that Grant Award Checks have been written and mailed for January, February and March. If you have received an award check please be kind enough to deposit it ASAP and return the W-9 that was included in the envelope. As you may be aware we have a sum certain we take out of the market each month between January and May. By May 15th we have our absolute certain IRS mandated 5% qualified distribution figure that we have to expense as a private not for profit as our 990PF tax return must be filed. Grants are reviewed by the committee by the date received. All award checks will be mailed by the end of May. Many of you are aware that owing to the sheer unexpected volume of grant applications that arrived on December 6-9the via express mail that were for the most part non-conforming as they were sent on outdated grant application forms that were found “on-line”, (having nothing to do with the merits of many of the applications) it was decided to only award encouragement grants of $250-$500 to these 45-50 applicants. You are notified of this now, so that you can seek funding for your project. We wish you continued success.
