Artists Breaking Limits and Expectations is a Chicago-based NFP that offers performing arts opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and other cognitive disabilities. A.B.L.E.’s past performances have ranged from Shakespeare to Dickens. Their next play will be Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, which is a play about courage and virtue and the recognizing of inner beauty. As part of this play their ensemble will work together to create their own stories about what people see of them from the outside and what “gems” they have inside.
