WASHINGTON D.C. UPDATE
The Columbus Children’s Choir hit numerous high notes during their visit to and from the Wihite House this week. The true spirit of Christmas was shining as it was all about children and giving from the heart. The setting for the choir in the grand foyer of the White House rivaled the talents of MGM at it’s best. The childrens performances were letter perfect. They presented each song with talent, skill and heart. Dr. Mathias lead the choir through a variety of classic tunes from Silent Night to Baby It’s Cold Outside. Each gift they offered was wrapped with joy, warmth, spirit, harmony and love. The audiences reciprocated with heartfelt applause, laughter and tears.
The children, their accompanist, Chad Baker, and Dr. Sandra Matias are in every sense “professionals”. It made no difference if they were performing at the White House, as programmed, wearing their holiday best. Or dressed in their blue jeans and hoodies for a spontaneous concert for the public at the Lincoln Memorial, Pizza Hut or Stop & Go. The children always gave their best and their gifts rivaled those of gold, frankences and myrrh… they did Columbus proud!
