Puffin Foundation West has given a grassroots grant to Mr. Aaron Thomas, who is sharing his amazing skills and vision and is using his talents to inspire young people and make a difference in their lives. He directs his focus on young people as he ..”loves working with the children, ” as he finds that “Many of today’s youth have lost direction. I try to help them refocus and regain their perspective through art. ” Mr. Thomas has shared his time and talents with children who registered for Summer Kids last year at the Wexner Center and as a mentor withTransit Arts. He has working with troubled teens through the Wexner Center’s School Outreach Program at the Sciota Juvenile Correctional Facility, as well as with ArtSafe at East PIlgrim Elementary School in Columbus OH, where Mr. Thomas was able to use art to show high-risk children how they can find productive ways to express their feelings and by doing so helping to potentially keep these children out of prison or reform or school.
