DANCING ARTICHOKES?
We have previously spoken about a grant we gave to another group participating in Global Water Dances which will be held on June 24th to raise awareness and advocate for access to clean water worldwide. Access to clean water is not a third world issue. Flint Michigan blazed the headlines and most recently 152 EDUCATIONAL sites in BROOKLYN, New York tested high for lead levels. This Water Dance is being choreographed by Lynn Neuman, the founder of Artichoke Dance Company, and will be danced to live the group Grace Drums along the Gowanus Canal. The Gowanus Canal is one of this country’s most polluted waterways – which was granted superfund status in 2010, but the clean-up is not scheduled to begin until 2018?!. www.artichokedance.org
