Dr. Roma who leads the World House Choir which receives PFW support has another important project that is run through Wilmington College’s Music, Arts, and Theatre Academy (MATA) which she takes to the Dayton Correctional Institution, London Correctional, and Marion Correctional. Wilmington’s prison arts education program, MATA provides choral music programs for the inmates that focus on building bridges between inmates and the world beyond the prison walls. MATA’s mission is to build and sustain creative arts offerings in prison, to educate, inspire, motivate, heal and transform lives, and to collaborate across fences.
