Year after year, our seabirds rely on conservation efforts funded by generous supporters like you. It is with you that we continue our unique, long-term studies and provide a model for seabird restoration across the globe.
Nearly fifty years ago, Audubon brought Atlantic Puffin chicks from Canada to Maine in the first-ever attempt to reestablish a puffin nesting colony on Eastern Egg Rock. Today, we are preparing for the next fifty years of seabird conservation by listening to what the seabirds are telling us about climate change, forage fish management, proposed offshore wind power development, and other ocean conservation challenges.
Because of you, we can help create a future where seabirds will not just survive but ultimately thrive, despite the threats.
We continue to develop new programming that broadens our reach throughout the state of Maine, including Sips and Seabirds, Seabird Saturdays at Pemaquid Point, and Puffin Palooza. With COVID-19 safety protocols in place, Hog Island Audubon Camp resumed full-capacity programming for a summer of birding and learning in the heart of Maine’s Midcoast, In Rockland our Project Puffin Visitor Center also resumed normal operations, sharing our critical work with visitors of all ages.
Your contribution ensures our work can continue and allows us to protect Maine’s seabirds, train and inspire the next generation of conservation biologists, and advocate for seabird protections worldwide.
Thank you for your generous support. Best Wishes
