On April 2nd at the Columbus Metropolitan Club’s luncheon you will have to ask yourself if 10,000 gallons of crude methylcyclohexane methanol and other chemicals poured out from an uninspected ruptured storage tank directly into your water supply creating one of the largest water contamination emergencies ever in the United States would you ever drink the water again? Would you bathe in it? Would you wash your delicates in it? What is your definition of safe and whom do you choose to believe? Also up for discussion are the water quality issues in Lake Erie and Grand Lake St. Mary’s. Spencer Hunt, former Dispatch Environmental reporter will host and moderate. Keith Dimoff, executive director, of the Ohio Environmental Council Richard Westerfield, Administrator of Water, City of Columbus, and Rich Shank, formerly with EPA and The Nature Conservancy will be a panelists.
