MR. STEVEN GOLDSTEIN IS THE NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE ANNE FRANK CENTER FOR MUTUAL RESPECT – PLEASE READ HIS WORDS.
“……..the hateful tragedies of our time, including last Sunday’s shootings in Orlando, have rescinded the ethical right of our organization to continue on a more modest path. Our organization must engage enough people in our massive nation to achieve Anne Frank’s dream of a kinder and fairer world…..I’m Steven Goldstein. the organization’s new executive director….The new name for our organization is an expanded name that reflects our newly expanded mission to fight prejudice and discrimination as it exists today. It’s time to welcome you to the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect. Welcome, with gratitude! The focus on contemporary issues would only strengthen, rather than dilute, the organization’s sacred work to commemorate Anne Frank and the Holocaust. By working on contemporary issues and applying the lessons of the tragic past, we would make the Holocaust more relevant to young people in every generation ahead. And we would make this organization more relevant. Our intention is unmistakable: We will never abandon history or our organization’s work to preserve its memory. As the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect, we will have the platform from which to produce the widest scope of public engagement programs to impact the nation. We will captivate the nation with our new vision, new ambition and new audacity to follow through. Our transformation couldn’t have come fast enough in a nation reeling from the tragedies of hate. Won’t you join me in building the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect into a national powerhouse that helps to protect the American dream and move the world closer to Anne Frank’s dream?”
