PFW meet ArtSparks’ Executive Director, Ms.Kara Stewart in 2016. We are so glad to see them again and have provided them with a grant for their project One World, OneWater. Their 30 week dance and music curriculum that supports core academics and life skills for the Cuyahoga Falls School District in OHIO. This year students will explore the importance of water locally as they learn about pollution in their very own Cuyahoga River and the steps that it takes to clean up their water. ArtSparks brings professional teams of dance instructors and musicians who are able to spark a joy for learning in participants’ hearts and minds by engaging them in innovative dance programming designed to complement core academic learning. The program utilizes a fun but disciplined teaching method to provide dance-based workshops and residencies that inspire participants to reach for excellence in all that they endeavor. The ArtSparks experience develops memory capacity, fosters teamwork, increases self-confidence, and builds character while igniting individual creativity through the art of dance. Offering year-long or more concentrated residency programs, ArtSparks has a program to enrich every participants learning experience.Every child, including students with disabilities and students from all socioeconomic levels deserve to be joyously challenged to reach their personal best and to feel their accomplishments come alive as they run, spin, stomp, clap and leap their way to becoming a happier, kinder and increasingly more confident human being!
