BENN LOXO DU TACCU
Adult/Children’s Drum and Dance Conference
Aminata Mane created the vision for Djun’Kendafala Dance Company’s Mission, which is to promote social change, personal growth and preserve cultural awareness with people of all diversities through the education, presentation and representation of traditional folkloric dances of the African Diaspora. Djun’Kendafala integrates music, history, geography and self-expression into their third annual conference, which begins June 5th featuring both guest drummers in the Central African tradition and teachers. They welcome all who want to express their emotions through dance as a visual process. The drum and dance conference is dedicated in promoting the arts as a healing and preventative measure for chronic diseases in youth and adults such as obesity and diabetes. The process of movement therapy is often helpful in resolving inner conflicts and promotes healing and peace.
