One of our favorite grants provided this year want to a sponsorship (in a grassroots way) to the Dublin Arts Council, which will present BREAD, a festival of arts and community. The festival is designed for those who live, work or play in Dublin to get to know and embrace the diverse cultures of Dublin. On October 15th, each ethnic group will bake their traditional *BREAD on site and all those attending the festival will be invited to break bread in “family dining room” booths that will also include displays and creations of folk art, clothing and ethnic traditions. The event has been planned to help reduce dissonance and encourage community cohesion during a time of significant change for the city. Professional and community stages will feature performances and workshops in culturally diverse art forms, including dance and music.
