Peacock Rebellion is putting on the first all-transgender social change festival in the US featuring 4 production to be held at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center this June as part of the National Queer Arts Festival. Brouhaha a social change- focused stand-up comedy series, to train, coach and provide national opportunities to a group of emerging activist-comedians who use comedy to bridge the social divide. We have in a previous grant given you some statistic about transgender women of color. A trans woman of color responded to a survey and said: “This is he first time I’ve n someone like me on stage. Before coming to this show I never thought it was possible…who was able to share my honest truth as a survivor of violence….
