A grant was today given to the Friends of the Community Relations Commission in support of their annual art competition with a mission. This project which is open to middle and high school students in Columbus/Franklin County celebrates the life of Martin Luther King. This year’s theme is “Celebrate the Legacy: The Power of Love and Togetherness”. This open invitation to our county’s youth to participate will help stimulate a dialog and provide young people with meaningful insight into their own lives and communities. The project culminates with the Best of Show being hung in Columbus’ City Hall Main Lobby for one month and there is a small cash award! We are certain that all see the exhibit will gain strength in their conviction that they can peaceably transform our society through the language of ART by channeling the courage and accomplishments of MKL.
