2015 will mark the fact that fifty years ago the United States deployed its first ground troops to Vietnam. The war exacted a huge human cost in terms of fatalities. 58,220 U.S. service members died in this conflict that marked in many ways the beginning of modern warfare. The toll in human tragedy is exponentially higher. Eddie Adams, the best-known Vietnam War photojournalist who worked for the Associated Press won the Pulitzer Price for his photograph Saigon Execution and over 500 other awards for his life’s work. The DUBLIN ARTS COUNCIL will host a four-month long show May-September, 2015- EDDIE ADMAS: VIETNAM which will give viewers the opportunity to learn about, reflect upon and acknowledge the significant sacrifices of our Vietnam veterans who remain, misunderstood, overlooked and under appreciated. Much more about this exhibit will be shared in the months to come.
