Since 1993, the Interfaith Association of Central Ohio (IACO) has hosted an annual MAIN EVENT LUNCHEON which brings together free-thinking individuals and members of various faith traditions to consider how we might apply our shared spiritual and philosophical principles and values to address myriad societal, environmental, and economic challenges that confront us in Central Ohio. PFW has since 2011 been a principal sponsor of the keynote speaker of these events. This year the theme for the Main Event luncheon to be held in August is ‘FAITH SERVING HUMANITY THROUGH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY” and IACO will be hosting Pastor Thomas Laird Jones, Ambassador-At- Large for the CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. Housing and the economic challenges it carries with it is a problem faced by too many American families, many of whom are still recovering from the great recession of 2008. It is a necessity that we as a society make strides to make adequate shelter a matter of public conscience and accepted as a basic human need both here in our community and worldwide.www.iaco.org
