The Columbus Film Council organizes and produces the longest running film festival in the U.S. the Columbus International Film + Video Festival. (CIF+VF) Each year the Festival includes a morning of award-winning cartoons for children. The CIF+VF will be bringing this educational and nonviolent children’s programming to the Columbus Arts Festival this year.
The Columbus Arts Festival is a free public event in downtown Columbus June 6-8, attended by some 450,000 people. The program will be presented in the air-conditioned Film Festival Theater Tent on a continuous loop in the mornings on all three days of the Columbus Arts Festival.
The Morning Cartoons for Kids brings to the screen animated stories of a Russian boy who wants to play baseball in Siberia, a trio of healthy food heroes, an Oneida tale of a young turtle and a foolish beaver and a locally produced cartoon about a sphere who doesn’t fit in a land of squares.
Your money will be going directly to the filmmakers who created these amazing animations, equipment needed to bring the films to the public and to pay a technical person to compile and organize the videos for the screenings.
Budget Breakdown:
5 films = $1,000
p2g admin fees = $112
Budget total $1,112
