This MARCH project by Art is a Healing Foundation www.aahfi.org was coordinated to honor Women’s History Month. Much of the female perspective is missing from history as well as the accomplishments and contributions by women to culture and society. On an average, women artists only make up 5% of the art represented in major museums, galleries, and private collections around the globe. We would like to see this change, as art is a visual voice and a cultural influence, the lack of inclusion of women with the major players in the art world is akin to placing them in poverty and as a Ghandi has said, “Poverty is the worst form of violence”. Women need to be heard, represented, and fairly compensated for their work and the magic that the feminine brings to lives and the planet. This exhibition expresses issues, feelings and sentiments women have living in a global patriarchy as well as the joys and benefits of feminine attributes.
