Puffin West has again awarded a Grant to The Jazz Poetry Ensemble for their second annual Tribute to Kate Schulte and her committment to social justice, civil rights, women’s rights and in honor of her love of music and neighborhood. This year’s theme will be Friends and Family, Building Community from Columbus to New Orleans. This year you can see for FREE two major New Orleans jazz musicians at the Hot Times in Olde Town Festival. it will feature the return of saxophone legend Kidd Jordan. Kidd’s son, Marlon Jordan, an international jazz trumpet star in his own right, will join Kidd and The Jazz Poetry Ensemble™ (Roger Hines, bass; Roger Myers, drums; Brett Burleson, guitar; and Michael Vander Does, poetry and trombone) on stage. This celebration concert will be at Hot Times on Saturday afternoon@ 5pm on September 7.
