The BACKBONE CAMPAIGN’S summer program, LOCALIZE THIS! personifies Puffin West’s Mission. A grant has been given to support this five-day Summer Camp that brings, to Beautiful Vashon Island off the coast of Seattle this July 29-August 4, some of the most effective organiziers and activists who will exchange ideas and skills for the creation of spectacle imagery,(as recently seen on CBS Sunday Morning News Hour*
) innovative messaging and political theater. This camp teache will teach up to 175 campers how to use Artful Activism including the strategic use of creative tactics such as festival arts, flash mobs, music and other theatrical forms of nonviolent direct action.
