Maroon Arts Group (MAG), Columbus OH will engage artists and community patrons to respond to social justice issues pertinent to the community while using art as the vehicle. This project will not only restore the hope for an area whose rich arts legacy and recent revitalization provide a unique opportunity for its empowerment through the arts but will also provide and opportunity for its voice to be heard by many other patrons who may not otherwise be attracted to the area. MAG is a collective of creatives who have galvanized to develop and provide a platform for conscious art that is centered around the preservation and promotion of cultures of African descent.
