OEC Finding Sustainable Solutions

PFW continues its support for the  OEC for all who call Ohio “HOME”. They help individuals, communities and businesses go green, save money, and live healthier. Using legislative initiatives, legal action, scientific principles and statewide partnerships they secure a healthier environment for Ohio’s families and communities. The Ohio Environmental Council is the state’s most comprehensive, effective and respected environmental advocate for a healthier, more sustainable Ohio. Their experts work daily to restore and strengthen the quality of life for families and communities – from the air we breathe and the water we drink to the food we eat and natural resources we all enjoy. Puffin West has provided funding for honorariums so that their experts can attend and speak at two regional forums in 2015 where they will be able to engage with more than 100 business, government and community leaders. PFW, for instance, has previously supported a forum discussion at the Columbus Metropolitan Club which the OEC provided a panelist. PFW is also continuing its support of the OEC Photo Competition which encourages amateur and professional photographers to contribute locally sourced photographs to spark discussions and even encourage citizens to take action as art, as we know, resonates on an emotional level and moves people. The OEC will partner with Ohio Citizen Action at the Second Annual Puffin Collaborative Film Festival coming October 11, 2015 at the Gateway Film Center.
