ProMusica’s participation in The Youth and Family Program is now in its 13th year. Their Mission is to break down the barriers that prevent many underprivileged children from enjoying the cultural experience and enrichment that music brings into our lives. This program is a partnership with 8 other organizations all committed to bringing artistic excellence to children in grades K-5. Puffin West is pleased to help support this type of programming outreach. In these times it is so important for NFPs to support these programs because too many school districts, which have had to tighten their budgets, have eliminated arts education opportunities. The 200-300 children who participate in this multi-layered educational experience in their schools are visited repeatedly year after year which allows their experience and familiarity with music to compound and build. This in turn helps to provide a lasting benefit and understanding of the beauty and power of the arts. Another hallmark of this program includes the distribution throughout the community of 500 free tickets to family concerts held at the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
