The Second Sight Project is a unique amalgamation of social practice artwork and community-based arts organization. Founded by artist Mona Gazala in 2012, Second Sight facilitates exhibits and art projects that are accessible to residents of Franklinton, while giving visiting artists a chance to experience the neighborhood from the perspective of the people who live here. Our mission is not just creativity, but neighborhood advocacy. PFW HAS WORKED WITH MS. GAZALA previously and we were so happy to see her back Her Project: SAVING THE CREW that matters was launched on January 10th and it is aimed at YOU to get involved, start community discussions, contact your representatives as in these dire times we need to examine our communities’ true priorities and opt to support socially important and not “market driven”. Catch her project at OSU Urban Arts Space and student activists who will hold up signs expressing their feelings opening night, February 22 from 5-7. gazalprojects.com and facebook.com/secondsightsecondsite
