Ohio Citizen Action turns 40 this year and we recently got one of the best “birthday presents” I can think of.
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio rejected a proposal from American Electric Power (AEP) and another from Duke Energy to raise rates and lock customers in to a scheme that would prop up two aging, dirty coal plants that otherwise can’t compete on the open market.
A similar proposal from First Energy is still pending, as is another proposal from AEP, so this is everyone’s business.
For 40 years now, we’ve racked up a string of consumer and environmental victories like this because we’re backed up by people like you. Together, we win. Together, we’ll keep winning.
Please help us celebrate our upcoming Earth Day birthday with a special gift today.
