Ohio Citizen Action turns 40 this year and they recently got one of the best “birthday presents” for their continued hard work and lobbying efforts.
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio rejected a proposal from American Electric Power (AEP) and another from Duke Energy to raise rates and lock customers in to a scheme that would prop up two aging, dirty coal plants that otherwise can’t compete on the open market.
A similar proposal from First Energy is still pending, as is another proposal from AEP, so this is everyone’s business.
For 40 years now, OCA racked up a string of consumer and environmental victories like this because they were backed up by people like us. Together, we win. Together, we’ll keep winning.
Please help them celebrate their upcoming Earth Day birthday with a special gift today.
