Tobi Furman had an idea and was unrelenting in a most peaceful way, and through her efforts an amazing donation was made to her of a bus for her programming that brings art activities to children for free. NOW THE ARTMOBILE ACTAULLY DOES HAVE WHEELS. Last year over 400 youths aged 7-11 were participants in Franklinton and the Hilltop in her programming. In 2018 this opportunity of exposing and giving access to youth will be available to many diverse communities, as the Artmobile will show up at local gathering centers throughout the area. Engagement in the arts can help our youth in various ways: as a vehicle for self-expression, acquiring skills, building self-esteem, developing focus and teamwork. Unfortunately, with the decline of arts education and funding in public schools and lack of access to arts programming, few urban, low-income young people have high-quality, engaging and educational art experiences at school or in neighborhoods. The participants will also be given take home materials to engage their family in extending learning such as books to read. https://www.cbusartmobile.com/contact-us/
