The Anne Frank Center will also host programs for students, as part of its Mission is to use art to teach history, literacy and personal empowerment. This project is very unique as it focuses on a simple Artifact, being a hat, that has the power engage the viewer to take a mind’s eye journey into past history that was full of intolerance, racism and discrimination personified by the inhumanity of the Nazis to men, women and children who were not like them. The sharing of an artist’s process, such as Ms. Patz’ will be of great interest and inspiration to young students whose imaginations are ripe to suppose. We hope this show will inspire the next generation to continue to work on building a world based on equal rights and human dignity.
