A CHILDREN’S GATHERING

A three-day event Celebrating the Natural Art of Being a Child. Children are works in progress says the developer of this grant, Ms. Angele Wood. This outdoor event  on day one will take children on a hike through the Glen Echo Ravine to find wild flowers, evidence of animals, and help them listen to songbirds so that they can identifying the calls. Glen Echo Park was initially dedicated to the City of Columbus, Ohio, “for public park purposes forever.”  by the Columbus Real estate and Improvement Co. by Plat dated June 24, 1912.

Children should bring a picnic lunch and after lunch games, such as the Living Thing game and the Directions game will provide more educational fun. On day two the children signed up will be involved in creative workshops including paper making, and instrument making. Day three children will be encourage to bring objects to the gathering that will be put into a pile so that everyone can make artful things out of these found recycled/upcycled objects. Look for local announcements of this event in Clintonville, Linden, the Campus area and Worthington. All are invited to this free Children’s Gathering.
