ART FOR AND FROM THE INCARCERATED

Last year Dr. Catherine Roma (The World House Choir) I collaboration with  the KUJI Men’s Chorus, Theatre of Conviction, Healing Broken Circles and the Marion Prison Administration  presented four performances, one for the incarcerated at Marion Prison and three  for people from the outside of  THE HAMILTON PROJECT.

Owing to its success, the collaborators discussed their next steps which they believed was to perform 23 of the 46 original songs from HAMILTON and master it upon a CD for more people to see the work including sending a copy to the Governor, the head of the Ohio Department of Corrections, the executive director of the Ohio Arts Council and  legislators to show  them the powerful impact that the arts provide people who are incarcerated.  Their aim is to reach as many people as possible with this second round of performances.
