Central Community House’s after-school program, Community’s Promise was awarded a special grant by the Puffin Foundation in order to maintain the number of children served through December 2010, in light of funding cuts from other sources. This multi-faceted program serves 50 children living in the near east side of Columbus, Ohio and provides them with transportation from local schools, daily snacks and meals, educational support, and healthy activities with a focus on art and cultural enrichment through a program administered by The Greater Columbus Arts’ Council’s Mr. Jim Arter, (children’s advocate extraordinaire) called “Art in the House”.
