Puffin West has joined with The Fledgling Fund, an Anonymous Donor, and the Compton Foundation  and has given director Jon Shenk a Grant  so his film company, AfterImage Public Media, can begin to create an Educational Outreach version  of his  award winning documentary, THE ISLAND PRESIDENT. The second life of a Documentary can be the making of the film into an educational vehicle that could be seen by hundreds of thousands students in high schools and colleges globally that also  comes with an educational curriculum and study guides created by scientists, human rights experts, environmental writers and other experts.   This endeavor will delve into the issues of democracy, human rights and climant change.  One of the most important goals of documentaries is to  educate and motivate  viewers.  Being able to create an educational cut of THE ISLAND PRESIDENT and a a study guide for teachers to use in the classroom and for libraries to carry on their shelves is so important to build awareness.
