Summer Jam Westgate is the only arts and music festival in the Hilltop area of Columbus. Their Mission is to bring neighborhoods together through joy, music and art and to raise awareness of environmental and humanitarian concerns. In achieving these goals they use local , buy local and promote local. The 2016 theme is SUMMER JAM & THE FANTASTIC FOOD GARDEN. We have provided them with a grant as we too believe that better food is the foundation for a better life. There will be discussions about where your food comes from, how to grow your own food and how to eat healthy. Attendees will also be invited to bring healthy food donations to the neighborhood’s food pantry. Muralist Danielle Poling will painting a mural entitled The Fantastic Food Garden that will depict all manners of vines and berries, vegetables, birds, pollinators and bright flowers.
