A.R.C. uses ART to ask “WHAT IF..?”I

A PFW Grant will be used to help fund a  SCHOLARSHIP  opportunity  being offered by  the AIDS Resource Center (ARC) of Ohio to Central Ohio High School Students to create POSTERS that complete the statement, “If I were positive….”  Students will incorporate a response into their artwork.  Second and third place design winners will receive a $250 scholarship check and the winner will receive a  $500 scholarship check. The winning poster will be used by ARC Ohio in advertisements in local publications.   The awareness of young people with AIDS has fallen despite the increase in young people becoming infected with HIV. Young adults between 20-24 years old have an infection rate that has 487% between 2007-2011!  This is our most at risk population.  Being able to raise awareness in High Schools is therefore critical.  This artwork will help bring attention to the fact that HIV is still infecting young people at an alarming rate.
