An Extraordinary Collaboration: NSCMF and ICODA

A Puffin West grant has been given to Chicago’s North Shore Chamber Music Festival (NSCMF).  On June 6th at the Village Presbyterian Church in Northbrook, IL an extraordinary collaboration will unfold!  Under the direction of Vadim Gluzman, Artistic Director, and Angela Yoffe, Executive Director,  some of the world’s foremost musicians, who will be  appearing throughout the Festival, (www.nscmf.org) will be on stage with the young artists from the International Center on Deafness and the Arts (ICODA). This is an incredible pairing that will indeed enrich, educate and empower these deaf and hard-of-hearing young performers.  This will be a moving and profound experience for the members of ICODA as music can be FELT by the deaf  through its vibrations which in turn teach them rhythm and movement. The pre-concert event is on June 6th @ 6 p.m. This event demonstrates the relationship of arts and learning, encourages the development of individuals, amplifies public awareness of Deaf Culture and creates an environment which strengthens bonds among diverse populations. The Festival  dates are June 6th, 8th and 9th.  BE THERE!
